Mike Morrell is running to represent the 23rd State Senate District because Sacramento needs people that understand business to turn our economy around and create good jobs in California.
A small business owner for over 25 years, Mike understands the obstacles job creators face because he's been there. His small government philosophy is grounded in the truth that government should serve the people and not the other way around. He's established himself as a principled conservative voice, whose commitment to free enterprise, family values, and property rights is unshakeable.
Mike and his wife, Joanie, have been married for 38 years and together they have three children, Kristen, David, and Matthew. Kristen is an alumna of Claremont Graduate University, David is a Yale Law School graduate, and Matthew is a proud Hillsdale College graduate. Mike is deeply involved in the community and has served on the boards of the Building Industry Association, the Rancho Cucamonga YMCA, and the advisory board of the Gary Anderson School of Business at UC Riverside.
Mike waited until his youngest son, Matt, was in college to run for office. In 2010, Mike was elected to the State Assembly. In 2014, he ran for the State Senate in a special election. Since being elected, he has worked hard for the families of the Inland Empire, opposing proposals that would drive up the already high cost of living, keeping property taxes low, stopping billions in new taxes, working on upgrading education standards, and passing legislation to improve the lives of veterans.
Government's job is to work for us, not against us; to provide more freedom and opportunity, not less. Citizens thrive when we keep more of the money we earn, so that we can invest in our lives and the lives of our loved ones.
Mike is deeply committed to these principles and has worked hard to serve you. With the help of concerned Californians government can be made efficient and effective.
Mike Morrell is an experienced businessman who cares about the direction of our state and our country.
